About the Position:

The Material Handler – Shipping & Receiving is a hands-on, physical position responsible for safely moving customer parts and materials throughout the facility and supporting daily shipping and receiving operations. A primary responsibility of this position is loading and unloading trucks and using forklifts and overhead cranes to move and stage customer parts.

When material handling needs are met, this position will work alongside the Shipping & Receiving team to receive incoming parts, package completed parts and prepare customer orders for shipment. This is not primarily an office or clerical position. Most of the workday will be spent on the shop floor standing, walking, lifting, moving materials, and handling customer parts in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Load and unload customer parts and materials from trucks and delivery vehicles.
2.       Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely move, stage, and organize customer parts throughout the facility.
3.       Transport parts between Shipping & Receiving, production areas, staging locations, and other areas of the facility as needed.
4.       Assist with physically receiving incoming customer parts, including unloading, unpacking, counting, inspecting, and staging materials (up to 50 pounds).
5.       Assist with packaging and preparing completed customer parts for shipment, including wrapping, boxing, crating, securing, and labeling parts as required.
6.       Handle customer parts carefully to prevent damage and maintain proper identification and traceability.
7.       Complete basic shipping and receiving documentation and computer transactions as needed to support the physical movement of parts.
8.       Maintain clean, organized, and safe shipping, receiving, staging, and material storage areas.
9.       Act as a back-up driver to support the team.
10.   Cross-train and assist with other Shipping & Receiving or production activities as workload requires.
11.   Support and complete additional projects and tasks assigned by your direct supervisor.
12.   Follow all AS9100, internal quality policies, OSHA safety regulations, and company safety policies, including the use of required PPE.

Job Requirements:

1.       U.S. citizenship or permanent resident required (sponsorship will not be provided for this position).
2.       Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
3.       Perfect work attendance.
4.       Must be a positive member of the Shipping & Receiving team.
5.       Ability to perform continuous physical work in an industrial environment, including standing and walking for the majority of the shift, frequent bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and safely operating material handling equipment in a non-temperature-controlled facility.
6.       Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately identify, count, and handle customer parts.
7.       Basic computer skills necessary to complete shipping and receiving transactions and documentation.
8.       Possess an active and clean driving record to operate a flatbed truck and obtain a For-Hire driver’s license.
9.       Previous manufacturing, warehouse, material handling, shipping, or receiving experience preferred but not required.
10.   Experience using forklift and overhead cranes preferred but not required.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
